BSOD major PC noob here?

I had my buddy build me a PC a few months back and lately it has been getting BSOD a lot. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I know next to nothing about PC's, it took me a few weeks to even identify what a "bluer screen of death" was.

System specs.

Welcome to SF!

First, please remove Avast, with this tool: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

Also remove Comodo firewall.

Replace Avast with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Replace Comodo by resetting the Windows Firewall. Open an elevated command prompt and enter netsh firewall reset.

Uninstall Nero, as it appears to be using SPTD. Then remove SPTD with this utility: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download...t-v172-x64.exe

Update your ATI drivers ASAP! Here's a link: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...win7_64_dd.exe

Oh yes, the drivers are still applicable to you.

Good thing you asked, it never hurts to confirm something before you blindly plunge ahead.
