Well I must confess I cannot fully debug your dumps because the Windows 7 SP1 symbols have not been released yet.

Thanks for the assistance Jonathan, sorry for the late reply. Got some more parts for the PC this week, better cooling fans for the processor (Corsair A70). Going to format the hard drive again and reinstall Win7 - Tried to uninstall SP1 Beta, cannot budge it. It gets to about 30% removal and then says cannot be removed. So format is required. I haven't got a lot installed on it so it just as easy.

My random freezes & black screen & reboots have seemed to decrease in frequency in Firefox since installing the latest Flash player. So that maybe something to note incase anyone else has the same problem. It has not stopped them but reduced the frequency!

Looks like I spoke to soon, I have had plenty of shutdowns whilst streaming video today. Plus after play the new Codemasters F1 2010, BSOD in Nonpaged area. Attaching the dmp file as well.

Going to run memtest now, will let you know the results!

Unfortunately, I don't have the symbols for SP1 and I could not really look at the dump. But I was able to glean a little bit from it.

Error code 50, Page fault in a Non Paged Area - usually caused by Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS.

Looking through your drivers, I find this very obsolete driver. It is an XP driver. Out of date drivers can and do cause memory corruption and crashes.

ctgame.sys Tue Apr 06 20:42:49 2004 - Creative Game Port Enumerator is a driver file from Creative Technology Ltd. belonging to Creative Audio Product. Creative Worldwide Support. Update this driver if possible. Your other Creative drivers are up to date.

You can also navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, locate this driver and rename it from .sys to .bak. This will break whatever program or function this driver is related to. Update or rename and reboot. Run your system and lets see if this is the cause of your crashes.

Carl, Ran memtest and after just one pass it found 3836594 errors on the ram, just order some new crucial stuff which is recommended by crucial and msi, hopefully this will solve all the problems, will just have to wait a few more days before closing the case. As for the SB Card, that is being junked as well. Its just too old now as creative dont seem to care that much about the card, will go and use the on board.

You are very welcome and thank you for the update. Please let us know how your system does does when you install the new RAM and do away with that obsolete Creative card.

Did you make sure the RAM slot was OK by testing a good stick in it? When RAM fail's Memetest, it can be the RAM itself or a bad RAM slot.

To tell the truth, I havent checked the slots, but, I will test it with the new sticks first, that way then I should get a good comparison if both sets error up it can only be the mobo, then it can be rma'd back to MSI. As both sets of ram will be from two different manufacturers

I have found the offending stick of RAM which was sat in bank 1 so was probably causing some of the problems. That has now been removed. I now have sticks in Banks 2 & 4, it seems stable at the moment. Waiting for the two new 4 gig sticks to come in which are matched by crucial to the mainboard.
