    Blue screen crash from game

I have installed gta iv yesterday and keep getting blue screen on the start menu of the game or shortly after I start playing it. I have been playing 5 other games for a long time now flawlessly, not having any other problems.Blue screen is coming up saying stop: 0x00000124 (0x00000000,0x8648301c,0xb20c2000,0x00000175)

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit Version 6.1 Build 7600

    (4x 1gb) ddr2 800 (PC2 6400)
    XFX Radeon HD 4870 1gb HD-487A-ZHFC

I ave added the two dump files from the minidump folder to a zip file

I will take a look. It appears to be a hardware problem.
Error code 124 is a special error code pointing to hardware. Your other dump is error code A and it blames hardware.

Please read this article on your bugcheck 124: [2-Int] Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

I suggest you start by testing your RAM
. Read the tutorial linked below and follow the instructions:

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    Post back with your results.

That is good news; we have eliminated that as a cause. Continue to troubleshoot as outlined in the thread above. Post back with what you find.

Checked vid card clock settings again and found that I still had the clock settings set too high even though everything ran fine with reasonable temps gta for some reason didn't like it

    default clocks - GPU:750
    MEM:3600

    was set at - GPU:807
    MEM:4020

currently have it set to - GPU:765
    MEM: 3660

with these settings gta is working perfectly fine now
