Trouble with corrupt files
Hello all, I have quite a bit of history to relay but I think it is all connected to my current issue. I have built a new PC and I installed Windows 7 Home Premium, then I updated all of the drivers etc... and installed StarCraft II and all was running smoothly. Then after a while I received some BSoD errors and finally after a few of these StarCraft II informs me partway through a game that I have the program is corrupt and prompts me to use the online repair tool - which fails everytime with the message that it could not find the file online.
To remedy this I uninstalled Windows 7 and went through a huge process of getting Windows 7 back on and a clean and fresh hard drive. So I reinstalled all the drivers - made sure they are up-to-date and finally attempted to reinstall StarCraft II and this time it informed me that my computer could not read a file for the installation and a file on the disc is corrupt (probably some dirt or scratch). So I transfered StarCraft II from my laptop across to my PC using an external hard drive and it played perfectly. Then I recieved some BSoD errors over the coming days and finally StarCraft II no longer loads and says that it is corrupt.
I have tried deleting all StarCraft II components from my computer and transferring it back over using the hard drive with no success. It still says it is corrupt even though it isn't and it worked perfectly before. The CD still seems to be of no use to me.
So it seems that it is not a StarCraft II error at all... but a problem with my computer since it won't even transfer across. I have tried using the "update" function on my Windows 7 installation from my External hard drive to maybe correct any windows file corruption but I received a corrupt file error message here - and I know that the file on the Ext. Hard Drive is not corrupt as it worked last time.
I am really confused and at a loss of what to do here. If I reinstall Windows 7 will the same just repeat where the game works for a few days and then fails miserably with some so-called corrupt file?
I would really appreciate some expert advice here as I am a complete novice with computers.
Cheers!
