Problem Reports

Hi,

I would like to know whether the windows error reporting services will send additional data file from my computer harddrive to the error reporting services web site without asking my consent.

For your information, I have checked the Automatically check for solution (recommended) under the Action Center\Problem Reporting Settings. But some of the problem reports that I can find in the Action Center\Problem Reports, have xml file, memory dump file as large as 160mb and other misc files attched to the problem report as shown in the attachments.

Does this mean, these files are send over to the error reporting service web site and I have never consent it to do so.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Go to Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Problem Reporting Settings and make a different setting. Anything "automatic" you can be never sure what they are doing.

I have disabled the setting after finding this out. I would like to know are those reports sent out or just being kept there for local references. Some more, some of the attachments are few hundred megabytes which are too large to send over my upload link of 256kb.

Thanks
