BSOD on installing Windows 7

    BSOD on installing Windows 7


    Hi all, i have just built my second pc using windows 7. On first power up i can get into the bios ok, i installed windows 7 64bit and it rebooted automatically to the BSOD

    info on screen

    *** STOP: 0x00000116

    *** nvlddmkm.sys - address FFFFF880490c6c0 base at fffff8800483c000, datestamp 4a0c8387


    im using a GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 motherboard,
    dont know how to find out what bios im using

    any help would be greatly appreciated...

    From the little bit of Google I just did it comes up as a video driver but I'm not much at BSODs.

    i searched google and got the same. not got round to installing driver for graphics card as im not in windows yet.

    Maybe it's an issue with the actual video card itself then.

    im starting to think its the spec of my video card 128bit ddr2 ram

    im using ddr3 ram in motherboard with a 64bit operating system.

    The bugcheck and file name indicate a vdr timeout but until we look at the dmp I cant tell


    We really need the actual DMP file.

    If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Start your own thread in the "Crashes and Debugging" section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    * Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

    since i cant install windows, how do i get the contents of minidump??
