    Driver error?

    My windows keeps saying
"Windows reports that the "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-116D ATA Device" device is not working properly."

    yet it is working fine?
and when I try to update the driver for the device through Windows it says that my driver is up-to-date

I tried to update the driver after this error but the driver wouldn't install properly
The driver is at DVR-116D - Software & firmware downloads - Pioneer UK
And when the driver unpacks it's files it says "Available target is not found" so it can't install anything?

When I check the driver on the device manager the error code is: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Update: Now the device itself doesn't appear in Device Manager at all

    Can anyone help me?

I think I accidently uninstalled the driver for it, but I'm taking in my computer for repairs in any case. My RAM has at least 20 faults through memtest so I'll just add it to the growing list of faults
