    Cant Wake From Sleep

    help please...
i just added 2 gig of ram to my lappy.(it was originally using 2 gig)
Since added i realised that windows is having trouble waking from sleep especially if i leave it to sleep for some time ( about an hour of sleep time) when i try to wake it it justs seems to lose power and dies or the fans just keep spinning but nothing happens.... nand i have run windows memory diagnostics... it doesnt seem to detect any problem with the ram..

    Hi manusdn7 and welcome

The windows memory test does not stress your memory enough to tell, plus it is run from within windows.

    You need to run memtestx86

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember that memtest errors can be either memory or bad motherboard slots so you may have to test memory one stick at a time, and the slots with known good memory.

Let us know if you need further assistance

In addition to Jan's advice, can you download CPU-Z and post a screenshot of the Memory tab?

    Thanks. :)

What is the speed of the old RAM? How about the new RAM?

Could you get me as many specs on the old RAM and new RAM as you can?
