Windows not booting
Whenever I try to boot windows, all I get is a black screen with a cursor (the command line kind, not an arrow). If i press something, nothing happens, and there is no disk activity. I primarily use Ubuntu as my OS, so I don't exactly when this happened. I have grub2 as my boot loader, but I know that is not a problem because I have restored the windows boot loader and it made no difference. I have run chkdsk /f on all of the partitions that windows installed, and it made no difference. BTW I have the same problem on my windows recovery partition.
If it helps, here is the os-prober entry in my grub.cfg (note: vista is what it calles my recovery partition):
Code:## BEGIN /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ### menuentry "Windows Vista (loader) (on /dev/sda1)" { insmod ntfs set root='(hd0,1)' search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 645a82075a81d5e8 chainloader +1 } menuentry "Windows 7 (loader) (on /dev/sda2)" { insmod ntfs set root='(hd0,2)' search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 0aea5bf7ea5bde0f chainloader +1 } ### END /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ###
