    Help My Computer Is sick!

    Hello,

I am having some issues with my computer. My computer has ran perfectly for the last three years no problems, until two days ago. And this only happens when I play my game (Everquest) Or watch a movie. I have had several BSOD Errors. Here is a list.

    Dxgmms1.sys address 9311b73a

Stop code 0x0000007E This was the first BSOD

    Then the second one came

    0x00000050 with the word Atikmdag

    Then came the third BSOD

    0x000000A (0x000003) , FF 082c89017 (I think I wrote that down right)

    Then the fourth BSOD

    0x0000001A (0x00005003, 0xco802000, 0x0001fbb, 0x00000004
    Memory Managment BSOD

I also have had a box come up in my task bar saying that AMD Display Driver Failed or something like that, it came and went to quickly for me to read it all.

I don't know if this has anything to do with what is going on, but I keep my computer on all the time, like when I am at work I have my guy set up in the Bazaar on my game to sell stuff, well I came home from work and this was about a week and a half ago, and my brother said he had to work on some electrical problem in the kitchen so he had to shut off the house power. Did he fry my computer? Just seems to me that my computer was fine until he did that. I dunno tho, which is why I need your help. Here is my computer info.

    Windows 7 Professional . . . - (32-bit)
    - Windows Vista -
    - retail version
    - came pre-installed on system - 3 years - Windows 7 for about a year now, before that it was windows vista

Attached is the Windows NT6_BSOD File, but nothing came up when I did a search the permon/report.

If you need any more info please let me know.

Have you (or your system) updated your graphics card drivers recently?
There was a new ATI driver released via optional Windows Update just yesterday that may have had something to do with it... just a guess though. Could you try to roll back to the previous driver, or install an earlier version? Also, check that you have the latest Direct X version.
If you don't have one saved, go to the ATI/AMD website, enter your details, click display results then scroll to the bottom of the next page and click previous drivers.

Hello, thank you for your quick reply, I have Direct X 11. You know another weird thing is I went to troubleshooting under control panel and did a scan for hardware and sound, and it came up that windows wasn't automaticly updating my drivers. But when I went to make sure that I had that enabled it said it was already enabled for automatic updating. So I'm not sure if they updated the ATI driver or not. Is there a way to tell? Also I don't know what to choose when it says "select the type of system you have" Do you know which one out of the list I should choose?

Ok I figured it out it, but there is a long list of previous drivers to choose from, should I pick the first one? And should I download and install it or should I uninstall the driver I have now then install the previous one?

    Hi,

Get the latest graphics driver in the list.

All the BSODs appear to be due to a fault somewhere in the graphics system - so if the driver update doesn't fix it then we are looking at a hardware problem.

After updating the driver run the following stress test.

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Also, what PSU are you using?

    Regards,

Click the start orb - windows update - view update history to see what has been recently installed.
The ATI driver is optional, so although you might receive automatic important updates, you probably haven't had the ATI updates installed. If you haven't updated your graphics drivers, perhaps try installing the latest for your card(?).
If you're using the same card as is in your signature (ATI HD 4600), then you can download the driver from this link: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...win7_32_dd.exe
Follow the link I posted to update your Direct X anyway, just to be sure.

I'm just guessing here though, and suggesting a couple of simple steps that may fix the issue. Hopefully someone will be along soon to analyse your bsod/dump files
