No BSODs today. I still have the Driver Verifier going. I rarely have stuff mounted in Daemon Tools, or even have it running. Avira is always updated.

Good news. After about 36 hours of use, you can turn driver verifier off it you get no BSOD's. Keep us posted.
Weird .. I must have really needed that file. I just noticed my DVD drive wasn't showing anymore. I have no idea what program installed it, and why when it's renamed, my DVD drive doesn't show anymore.

edit: Is it normal for my system to be sluggish when that Driver Verifier Enabled?
Yes, it is normal for Driver Verifier to slow your system down some.
Renaming that driver will definitely break the program. After you get your system running smoothly, you can rename it again. We are just eliminating one potential cause of BSOD's.
