The drivers are most often located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers
Update them by updating the program that uses them.
If you can't find the program, you can either stop them from loading by disabling them using Autoruns, or you can rename the drivers from .sys to .BAK

Thanks for your help. I've disabled the first two but I don't think I want to disable the nokia one if it will stop my nokia software working. I have the latest version of any nokia software though.

I am going to give that HD Diagnostic thing a go now.

I think the problems in this thread
DVD drive software

were down to what i did in this thread. I had to delete the upper and lower filters and I think one of them was one of the drivers from this thread I disabled.

I would suggest disabling the Nokia driver.
Test to see if that fixes it.
Then re-enable the driver and reboot to ensure that it loads.
