anyone? :S
This was happening with a previous drive, so I don't think that will help :S
Disable System Restore, Close all running applications, like messenger, web browser, etc, run CCleaner with everytyhing but the wipe free space option checked, then download Puran defrag free Edition and lt it do its magic.
Good Luck
So do you believe Windows 7 is at fault or is having a bug, I assure you its not.

Clean Install Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums
Im hardly getting the warmest of responses from you so I'll take this elsewhere, thanks anyway.
Two more things to check:
Repair Windows 7 System Files with System File Checker
Then try to run disk defrag from the command line.Open a elevated command prompt.
In the elevated command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
To run an elevated command prompt, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories.. Right click on Command Prompt and choose run as administrator.Open a elevated command prompt.
Type defrag.exe -c -w
Let's see if those two things can help. Until someone else's stops by with a suggestion.
