Computer Won't shutdown

Hello mates,

I got this problem for a while and I have not found any concrete solution so far.

My PC doesn't Shut Down. It always reboots. The only way to make stay shutted down is to force it with the power button.

I have been going through some tests myself:
- Registy scan
- Services activation deactivation (not all of them - only those not from Microsoft)
- BIOS check and nothing.
- HP hardware test
- Virus scan with several antiviruses (AVG Pro, Norton Anitivirus...)

Also I went to see the event log and the errors that I found were the following which comes out each reboot.
Although I have no idea how solving this problem.

Quote:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
Any ideas ?
Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Set up a clean boot and see it that helps. If it does follow the procedure
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If not successful Try in Safe Mode

Cheers and thanks for the quick reply.

I have already tried this and I have disabled ALL (even the windows ones) the services and the problems still returns. The computer won't shut down.

What does it change in the Safe Mode ? and how can I get into this mode ?

Thanks,

Safe mode loads with bare essentials; minimum drivers etc. If you still have a problem, it is probably caused by something that is required to boot
