Windows 7: Driver_Power_State_Failure

29 Sep 2010   #1

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

My Gateway LX Series has been acting up for awhile recently, shutting off on it's own at sporadic rates. Sometimes my computer will stay on for hours, other times it will shut itself off after a few minutes. A few days ago I got a BSOD with the driver_power_state_failure. I reinstalled my Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and things seemed to be okay for a day or two but then problems continued. I started my PC up in Safe Mode and it stayed on all day, no power failure, I did a device check and it came up with 2 errors:

Consumer IR Device has a driver problem.
eHome Infared Receiver(USBCIR) has a driver problem.

I tried fixing them through the device manager and both failed. I'm not really sure what I should do from here, any help would be appreciated.
