Nine BSoDs in Two Hours

Hello,

I've been experiencing a lot of BSoDs recently. They computer flashes the bluescreen and then reboots. This is not the first time it has happened. Usually I let the computer reboot and it does not BSoD again but this time it's different. They only occur when I am using the wireless at my school. Event Viewer reports all these BSoDs as an Event ID # 41 :

I did some research and 'debugging' and so far nothing has helped. I've done the following:

  • check and updated to the newest drivers
  • updated software and antivirus
  • installed all updates from Windows Update
  • cleaned out the heat sink and fan
  • complete anti-virus scan
  • ran scannow /sfc (nothing abnormal reported)
  • ran chkdsk (nothing abnormal reported)
  • Windows memory diagnostic (nothing abnormal reported)
I've attached two .zip file that contains the output from jcgriff2's BSoD program and my perfmon report. Another zip file contains two .dmp files that I found.

Thank you in advance =)

Hello, and welcome!

Please install these Intel wireless drivers: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3062&lang=eng

I see 2 0x7F BSODs, ZoneAlarm's trademark. Sure enough, I checked and you are using ZA.

Remove ZA with this tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Reset the Windows Firewall when done. Open a command prompt (Start>"CMD">Right-click>Run as administrator) and enter netsh advfirewall reset.

Install the attached Yukon drivers as well.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000406f8

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000406f8
Arg4: fffff80002e41ec0

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000406f8

You are welcome. : )

It's a good idea to replace ZA with MSE, and also try to update those old drivers (esp. 2006-2008) since a good chance they may be causing your bsod's.

Well ZA is just for firewall and Avira for antivirus.

I suggest that you replace Avira with MSE. Avira has been known to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Make sure Windows firewall is turned on. You can try Avira again after you get your system stable. You want to eliminate all known possible BSOD causes while troubleshooting.

I shall try MSE then. Thanks CarlTR6 !
