Low Virtual Memory Errors

I get low virtual memory errors all the time. This is a brand new machine, 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD Hard Drive, Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Office 2010 64bit. It appears that outlook is the culprit.

Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: OUTLOOK.EXE (5280) consumed 175378432 bytes, svchost.exe (348) consumed 136454144 bytes, and dwm.exe (3856) consumed 114208768 bytes.

This happens at least once a day. All microsoft updates and patches are current according to Microsoft Update.

Thanks for the info, but it's already set to Automatic.

That's what was "Currently Configured" by the automatic settings. However I just changed it to manual. So we'll see how that works.

Seems like a Memory Leak. In that case even if you increase the Virtual Memory it will run out maybe a little slow this time. Open Task Manager then add the "Memory (Private Working Set)" column to Task Manager's Processes tab, and sort it in descending order see which process it taking up lot of Memory and see if it's stable or constantly spiking up. If still Outlook that is causing the i would recommend to reinstall Outlook to fix it.

I agree on the memory leak, it seems to get worse over time. I had office 2007 on here prior to 2010 and outlook did the same thing on it. I had hoped that office 2010 would fix the issue, but it didn't. Which also makes me think that a re-install wouldn't help since going from 2007 to 2010 was technically a reintsall.

Interestingly enough, I'm having the exact same issue on a completely different machine. Dell Inspiron zinoHD 2GB RAM, AMD Athlon 2650e, 230GB HDD, Windows 7 Pro 64bit. However it gives this error in event log.

So this leads me to beleive it may be a Windows 7 problem. Or perhaps a windows 7 problem in conjunction with common software installed on both machines. But the inspiron doesn't have Office on it at all, nor virus scanner. The only program used on it is IE8 (guess this is common between the two)
