BSOD on sleep
Hey guys,
I have tried to tackle this one myself but am banging my head against the wall so need help with this.
My Sony Vaio VGN-NS10L crashes every time I put it into sleep mode - this started a few months ago, seemingly at random (though presumably not random, of course). I've looked at the minidump to the best of my ability and figured that it's some kind of power state failure with my wireless card (Atheros AR928X).
I have tried the following thing:
- Turning on/off the wireless card's power management options
- Disabling the wireless card
Both of the above result in the 'device manager' freezing up- Booted in 'safe mode with networking' and disabled the wireless card, and it worked - my laptop can sleep and wake normally again
- I went onto wiki-drivers and tried various options of the latest, and previous drivers. But as soon as I reactivate the wifi card, the laptop crashes on sleep again.
If anyone can spot anything in the crash dump that I am missing, I'd be very grateful. At the moment I'm moving towards my last resort which is a full re-format and re-install of Win7, with no guarantees that that will even fix the problem. Bad times!
