Serious keyboard issues - keyboard has a mind of its own
Hi everyone.
I have been experiencing serious keyboard issues since Friday on my dell inspiron 1420 laptop.
Goes like this:
Only the keys 5 and 6 work in the numbers row
windows button does not work
Most of the time i can type with my all my letters, but sometimes, pressing letters such as D, E, W executes the windows shortcuts automatically.
For instance, usually to head back to my desktop I use "windows button + D" - with my current problem sometimes only pressing on D will activate that shortcut - and this goes for all windows shortcuts basically making it impossible for me to use my keyboard.
Then sometimes my whole system is going haywire i.e volumes going up and down for no reason, windows that are closing and opening, pages refreshing, exporer opening up for no reason etc. - as if there was a faulty electronics problem randomly activating those buttons.
I have tried to load my system in safe mode but the problem still remains.
I have also just re-installed windows 7 and the problem still remains.
I am almost sure this is a hardware problem - faulty electronics regarding keyboard control
I dont think this is a virus or a malaware issue because re-installing windows did not help.
On another note, while cheking theweb for solution, it has been brought to my attention that other people have this problem (number keys not working except the 5 and 6 ones) and I have yet to find a solution or an explination.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks
