Bsod - Any Clue?

Yeah exactly, thought that was the issue, at least for a while. Then today the bsods started to occure again with the same codes as usual, memory management and ntoskrnl..

Decided to do a memtest again, and guess what... 5 errors(!) came up in just about 5 minutes.

Will follow your memtest-guide to see if it's both or just one stick that is faulty.
Why do you think the errors are showing up now and not before?

Ok. So here's the deal...

Seems like i finally found my issue!

Memtest on coldboot:

Try 1: 2 sticks in dual channel on auto voltage - Errors!
Try 2: 2 sticks in dual channel on 1.65v 1600mhz (XMP activated) - Errors!
Try 3: 1 stick in slot 1 on auto voltage - No errors
Try 4: The other stick in slot 1 on auto voltage - No errors!
Try 5: 1 stick in the second slot on auto voltage - No errors!
Try 6: 2 sticks in dual channel again on auto voltage - No errors!

So, nothing wrong with the sticks, and nothing wrong with the memory slots!
Apparently when the computer has been up and running for a while the memory error stops, which also explains my bsods that mostly occured on a cold boot.

My guess is that it's an unlucky combination with motherboard and the RAM:s.

Do you believe my conclusion is right? :)

Thx, //South

Edit: Found a thread were a guy have the exact same problem, it's quite amusing when you read how badly they try to fix the error:
http://forums.anandtech.com/archive/index.php/t-2039083.html

The solution for him was to get different RAM:s.

I have found that cold boot issues are usually caused by bad RAM. Perhaps once or twice the solution was to raise the RAM voltage a bit, but most often you just need to purchase new RAM. :(

Okay, so by that you mean the same RAM model would work if i'd RMA my ram and get two new sticks? Or Should i pick different RAMS just in case?

I've read that it does support 1600 mhz, Memoryfrequencies: DDR3-1066, DDR3-1333, DDR3-1600, DDR3-2200, DDR3-800. Even the support from the place where I bought it told me the recommended settings were 1600mhz with my computer.

So I don't know if Gigabyte wer sloppy or something when writing that :P

But I'll look on the QVL list!

THX!

Called the support today, and he thought it was best if I sent in the whole package, cpu, ram and the motherbord. Will do so, and I will post what the problem was here when I've got the answer, so we can put this thread as "Solved"! :)

Thank you all for your support!

The best computer-problem-forum I've visited! 10/10

Sounds like your on the right track, my guess is new RAM will solve this issue.

I see your BIOS is up to date, did you update your drivers as well?

Let us know the results of the RMA.

Okay!

So the problem semes to be solved, finally!

RMA:d the components and the support also got mem-errors on coldboot, they changed to new RAM-sticks and then the errors were gone.

But they didn't tell me if they changed to a new ram-model, havn't got the components back yet so I guess I'll have to find out later..

But please feel free to put this as "solved". :)

Thanks for all the help, you guys have been awesome!
