5 BSOD's in one day with Windows 64 bit (Rebooted from bugcheck)

First off, I am coming from the Mac world and this is my first system build. I have unexpected shutdowns regularly, 5 in one day on 10/2. I went into the reliability monitor and checked the technical details...here's what I found on a couple of the errors:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0xffffffffffffffff, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff80002bd980c). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 100210-50403-01.

...and another

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000f5 (0x0000000000000068, 0xfffff8a00c175160, 0xfffff8a00c1751b0, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 100210-49233-01.

I have a ton more shutdowns to choose from but those were examples of the latest. I built this system back in February of this year. I have attached a system health report after being directed to do so.

Here's my system info:
Core i7 920
prolimatech meghalems cpu cooler
p6x58d premium mobo
6gb corsair ram (memtested and came out great)
xfx ati radeon 5850
rosewill 1,000 watt power supply
2 samsung f3's in a raid 0 (system resides here)
1 samsung f3 just for storage
Windows 7 64 bit, full retail version
Current OS install is about 6 months old

Any help would be awesome. I really need to be guided by the hand given I'm such a noob. Help! I love the feel and features of Windows 7 but hate the reliability.

Here's my system info:
Core i7 920
prolimatech meghalems cpu cooler

Current OS install is about 6 months old

Any help would be awesome. I really need to be guided by the hand given I'm such a noob. Help! I love the feel and features of Windows 7 but hate the reliability.

Piece of cake

First you have a 5 year old asacpi.sys driver that almost always causes BSOD's

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Thanks for responding. I'll remove AVG and Norton tonight. I will also address the asacpi.sys driver issue tonight as well. I'll let you know what happens afterward. Is there anything else I should consider doing?
Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance but how to I go about updating these? Installing updates from Adobe and Wacom shouldn't be a problem but I've never updated specific drivers before. Do I have to track them down one by one? Can you link me to where I can find the updated drivers? As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

Just a little update...I removed AVG and Norton and installed MSE. I also updated ASACPI.sys which I discovered was stamped 2005.

I have to say that I disagree with replacing Norton with MSE. Norton is a far superior AV and I highly doubt it is the source of your problem. Running it with AVG is not a good idea tho.

I disagree. MSE is needed for troubleshooting purposes, it never causes BSOD's. Besides, Norton and AVG won't work together.

Later when the system is stable, say in a few weeks of stable running, it is safe to replace MSE with the latest 7 compatible AV system according to one's preference. But for now I insist running MSE.

ASACPI.sys was the one you needed to update the most. For others, check their support sites:

Well, I've had several more blue screens since updating the ASACPI.sys file. I just updated the marvell and sonic drivers. I went to Intel's site to download an update to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and used their driver update utility where it scans your system for to see if your drivers are current and it said all my drivers were current.

I'm gonna run this thing a few more days to see if I get any more BSOD's. If I do, I'll upload another system health report to let you guys know what's going on. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
