Windows 7: User Profile Service failed

User Profile Service failed

I switched on my laptop and the "welcome" shows up. I find it odd that it is taking way too long, then it started saying "Preparing your desktop" and I find that's strange.

Then I am in a desktop which is so foreign to me. I realized that I am logged on to a temporary profile.

I restarted my laptop. Same thing happened.

I did system restore. No luck.

I fiddle around the regedit (the one you need to change things in .bak), no luck. It did try to log on to my user profile, but all it says there is that user profile service failed.

I tried making a new user profile, as I was thinking maybe if I move stuffs over from my default profile to the new profile, it will do the trick (BTW, I can access my files in my default profile). I logged off in the temporary profile, use my new user profile. No luck. The same problem pops out.

As much as possible, I don't want to re-install my laptop, but if that's the only solution, then I have to do some backing up.
