    Update on comp

Don't know if anyone is still following this but the people I bought this computer from has found the issue with it. Apparently the power supply was defective, and not providing enough juice to the video card--which caused the constant BSOD's. I don't have it in my hands at the time of this post but once I get it back and put through some tests I will post back here with my findings.

I would love to see what they say. I'm having a (somewhat) similar issue, but with my graphics specifically on a 10 hour old computer. I don't have any tools to test the power supply or anything like that or I would have. Now that I think about it, that might have SOMETHING to do with it BSODing and reporting the graphics driver EVERY TIME (even though I updated it).

I've been reading around more about this problem and people have been suggesting to increase the DRAM voltage in BIOS from the usual stock 1.2 to perhaps 1.4 / 1.5; which has fixed their BSOD. If I were to get more BSOD's when I get the computer back, would this be the only thing I would have to do to change in the BIOS to insure the system would not cause any issues for the other components? What I mean is what other voltages would need to be increased / decreased to insure no damage is done. Thanks!

P.S. Sorry if the post seems kinda rushed or poorly written but I haven't had much sleep lately so pardon the bad grammar. :)

Chip, you have asked a good question. Unfortunately, I am not a hardware expert; but we have some really good hardware Gurus here. I suggest that you pose this question in a new thread in the Hardware section: Hardware & Devices - Windows 7 Forums. There you will get expert help.

Got my computer back and wanted everyone to know that everything seems to work great now! Also, I noticed Zonealarm does in fact caused me BSOD's, on top of the faulty PSU I had before I sent it back to get fixed. Just wanted to give you an update and to thank everyone that helped me out! :)

Now is the time to make an image of your system drive!!! This will show you how to create a system image (clone) backup of the entire hard drive or partition that Windows 7 is on, and any other selected drive or partition, to be able to restore the hard drive or partition at boot up back to the way it was at the time the backup image was created.

I'll be getting some blank blue-ray discs probably tomorrow and do the image back up then. Thank you for the great suggestion! :)
