freezing at start up

    More specific? Anything in particular you need to know? This is really driving me loopy ( the computer, not you)

    Boot from the installation DVD, and perform a custom install.

    tried it, says it can't find hard drive drivers

    Enter the BIOS setup, and try changing the hard drive mode to SATA, if it is set to AHCI, or AHCI if set to SATA.

    Have you tried running SeaTools for DOS yet?
