    BSOD on new computer

    Hi.
I bought a new computer about a week ago, and keep having random BSODs after it is on for several hours. I suspect the HD but I have two of them and dont know which one to blame.

Attached is the minidump analysis. Any help would be highly appreciated.

    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
    - the original installed OS on the system? yes
    - an OEM or full retail version? retail
    - OEM = came pre-installed on system
    - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? 1 week
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 1 week

    Thanks,
    Mark

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
There are issues with your Bluetooth HandsFree Audio service. Please uninstall the program, then reinstall a fresh copy from the manufacturer's website.

Interestingly there's 3 memory dumps listed in the MSINFO32 report - but only one dump file in the report upload. Have you used any sort of cleaning utility on the system recently?
    Here's the MSINFO32 errors:
09/10/2010 22:52 Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket X64_0x1E_c0000005_nt!RtlpVirtualUnwind+fffffffffffbce48

21/10/2010 22:10 Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket X64_0x3B_VcommMgr+6dfe

15/10/2010 16:32 Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket X64_0xF4_IOERR_C000000E_IMAGE_hardware_disk
Your VcommMgr driver is from 2007 - so I would definitely remove those programs (Bluetooth/BlueSoleil) Also, the IVT BlueSoleil site only liststhe program as being compatible with XP/Vista - so there's no guarantees that it's going to work for you.

Also, please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall OR remove:
    How To Find Drivers:
    - I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

Here's the older drivers (You can look them up here: Driver Reference ).
Please pay particular attention to any dated 2008 or earlier:

    Thanks for the detailed response.
I have indeed manually deleted the two older minidumps, my fault.

Regarding BlueSoleil: The installation CD that came with the dongle states that win 7 is supported. The unfortunate thing is that I dont seem to be able to find any dongle that does not use BlueSoleil drivers
Also, the demand money for a newer version...

I have ran HD diagnostics right now, and Self-Test fails, so I guess this was the cause....

    Thanks
