Computer crashes when I open a video

    Hi,
I'm having a serious problem with windows 7. When i open a video, even if it is a youtube video the computer blacks out and the only way to reverse it is through manually turning off (holding the power button until it turns off). This has been happening for a while now. Sometimes the pc only works if I turn it on using the safe mode because, otherwise, it crashes again just before showing the desktop. It shows me the following message describing the problem:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48
    Locale ID: 9226

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 117
    BCP1: FFFFFA80072EF010
    BCP2: FFFFF88004944E64
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: 0000000000000000
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\102710-29764-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Hector\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-40529-0.sysdata.xml

I have been reading a little bit and just updated the Graphic Card driver, the first of what I expected to be a full hardwares' drivers update. But when i was restarting the computer in order to continue to the next update the pc crashed. And I had to use it in the safe mode because it crashed again when i restarted it.

I am fully grateful for any help you could give me. I'm desperate right now and really worried that its a hardware problem. Thanks in advance.

    -------------
    Update:
I have just tested youtube videos and some videos in the hard drive while using the safe mode and had no crashings. But, had no audio.

Also I think it's important to mention that my display is a T.v. A L.G. scarlet to be precise and that my audio comes through the T.V.

Thanks, just read it from another thread. But i have a problem when im entering the perfmon/report command, I type it in the cmd and throws a new page showing:

    Error:

An error occured while attempting to generate the report.

The system cannot find the path specified.

Maybe it is because im in the safe mode?

    Thanks!

That might be; but just upload the rest of the files. We can work around not having the Perfmon report.

To begin your troubleshooting, I recommend that you uninstall AVG using this tool: Tool (64 bit). AVG is known to cause BSOD on some Win 7 systems. If you have installed AVG Identity Protection, uninstall it with this tool: Tool. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.

    Both dumps are video errors.
Error code 117, VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED. Usual causes: Video driver/sub-system.

Error code 116, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. Usual causes: Video driver, overheating, bad video card, ?BIOS, ?Power to card.

Before we start testing your video card, I suggest that you update your drivers. I see a number of out of date drivers loaded on your system; some of these are quite obsolete. Older drivers can and do cause conflicts, memory corruption and BSOD's. I see a couple of them that I suspect had a hand in your crashes. Update the following drivers beginning with those in red font.
000.fcl Fri Sep 26 09:11:22 2008 - CyberLink FCL Driver, Video editing software, Multimedia Software and Blu-ray playback software by CyberLink

Marvell Yukon Network driver Marvell: Support
    How to find drivers -
    - I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
Update the above drivers, especially the 2008 drivers. If there are no updates for the 2008 drivers, uninstall the software they are associated with. Upgrade to software that is certified Windows 7 compatible. Reboot and let's see how your system does. This may fix the problem Upload any new BSOD's and we will test your video card.

Thanks, I ran both tools and still have to use safe mode. Thus, i cant install the microsoft security essentials.

I will ensure now that my firewall is turned on but may take some time as i have no idea of how to verify it in safe mode.

Your English is just fine and I understand clearly. If you cannot update those drivers in the safe mode, we will try another approach.
