BSOD on new Windows 7 install Hi,
A couple days ago I did a fresh install of Windows 7 home premium x64 on my Dell Latitude E6400. Yesterday when I was transferring files over from my external hard drive I got a few blue screens. Then today while I was sharing files with a macbook on my home network through wifi I got another blue screen. I've attached the minidump files. Any ideas for what's causing this?
Thanks in advance. | My System Specs |

Sorry for jumping the gun. Here's the output from the jcgriff2 utility. I also had another blue screen since the first post so that is also included.
As far as system information
- x64 home premium
- this is a retail upgrade from an original vista install, but it is a clean install NOT upgrade in place
- system is dell latitude E6400, P8400 processor, 4GB ram, integrated intel graphics, intel wifi 5300
- this is a clean install as of 2 days ago
Thanks again.

Thanks much. All three dumps are the same error code and all three blame a core system driver, which very likely is not the cause. They also indicate memory corruption. Quote: Error code D1, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Usual causes: Device driver. Code: Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP (2 procs) Free x64

caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.

- search Google for the name of the driver

- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program. - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads Update the above drivers or uninstall the software. Reboot and run your your system. Let's see how it does. Upload any new BSOD's and we will go from there.

So I updated the storage drivers and the sentinel drivers, as well as uninstalling PowerISO. The Ricoh driver is for the SD card reader and I couldn't find a newer driver either through the Ricoh website or Dell. I also have the newest version of the bluetooth drivers from the Dell website. It won't let me install the drivers directly from the Broadcom website.
It seems that now the only time I get the BSOD is when I'm on my network at home (which is set as a Home network in network and sharing center with file sharing enabled) which also has one macbook connected. I got a blue screen yesterday but it rebooted immediately and didn't save a minidump file. I think I can temporarily avoid this by disabling the Computer Browser service, but I'd like to find out what's really causing this problem. I have never had a blue screen while connected to my work network which is set as a public network with file sharing disabled (this is with or without computer browser service enabled).
Has anyone seen anything like this before? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Latitude E6400 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel P8400 Memory 4GB Graphics Card Intel X4500 Hard Drives WD 160GB 5400rpm |

At least we have made some progress; that is good news. Quote: So I updated the storage drivers and the sentinel drivers, as well as uninstalling PowerISO. It won't let me install the drivers directly from the Broadcom website. Good job with the Sentinel driver and uninstalling PowerISO. I did not think there were newer drivers for the card reader. Many times, laptop manufacturers modify the drivers from the original company for specific use on the laptops. Drivers directly from the component manufacturers will not have these mods. That is why Dell would not let you install directly from Broadcom. Were the Broadcom drivers of a later date? Quote: It seems that now the only time I get the BSOD is when I'm on my network at home (which is set as a Home network in network and sharing center with file sharing enabled) which also has one macbook connected. I have never had a blue screen while connected to my work network which is set as a public network with file sharing disabled (this is with or without computer browser service enabled). On what computer is the network set up and what is the computer's OS? I am asking this because if it is a Windows 7 OS and the network is configured as a Home network, there will be problems. In Win 7, HOme network is only for all Win 7 machines. If you have mixed OS's, use Work network. It does not have to be setup as a public network. I am not a networking expert by any means; but we have some really good ones here. If you like, I will ask one of them to take a look at this thread. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

I had this set as a home network and the network and sharing center, but I have all of the homegroup stuff disabled. I will try using it as a work network and see if that changes anything. If that solves the problem I'm happy to use that as a workaround, but if the problem persists I would love to hear what the networking gurus have to say. Thanks again for the help. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Latitude E6400 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel P8400 Memory 4GB Graphics Card Intel X4500 Hard Drives WD 160GB 5400rpm |

The software or hardware is disabled; but the drivers still load. You can check to see what drivers and modules are loaded using msinfo. You are very welcome for the help. The networking Gurus here can most definitely help you setting up your network properly. I will ask the networking folks to take a look. have you done a memtest on your ram? when i used to see 'irq_less_than...' errors was from ram problems. You could try just using one stick of ram or swapping slots. The only other time i had this was problem was with overclocking, are you overclocking any settings? Ah, a network problem.
Remove Avast with this tool: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe
Install MSE instead: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
Download these drivers: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3062&lang=eng
Then, go to Device Manager, and uninstall your current network adapter drivers. Then install the drivers you just downloaded. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD
