    Possible tips.

For me, a thread titled "Help Please" is less likely to get my interest than one with a hint in the title "Will not boot" etc.

As a virus magnet I have spent many days without my PC. Instead of binning my old PC on getting a better one I hung onto it. It allows me to at least ask questions to help me fix my normal one.

I had a quick shuftie at the BIOS settings whilst the machine was working well.
Made notes as to what they were.
Sometimes nasties can alter basic settings but if I know what they should be then it gives me slightly more confidence in making alterations.

If you have alloy wheels then get a wheel spider and wrap a couple of layers of tape round the relevant end. It not only shows the end to use but it stops the thing scratching your wheels as you fumble it onto the wheel nuts. WTF?
