please help with minidump file

My system crashed apparently because of an old wireless adapter. I have replaced it but want to make sure there are no other issues. There was something suggesting that an external hard drive used for backup (Lacie) might have done something too. Please help

I had minidump files analyzed in the past just by including the zipped file as an attachment. Can this be done again?

We prefer the package. The package gives us a deeper look than just the dumps alone. We can often find clues that we do not get from the dumps.

Dear Carl: I created the windows_nt6 file which is attached, it appeared in my documents which I copied to desktop and zipped. I ran perfmon report but could not find a way to save it. When hit save as it sends to my document window and it does not appear there. The windows_nt6 was there and that is where I copied to desktop. The report did not show anything alarming.
The windows_nt6 might show problems that I had subsequent to the crash after installing a new wireless adapter. The Linksys people helped me with that problem. Thanks for your help. Leon

Thanks for uploading the files. I looked at your three most recent dumps. Two show the same error code and both blame tcpip.sys, which is a Windows system network connections driver and most likely not the real cause. the other blames WUSB54GSCV2_AMD64.sys, a USB driver.

I strongly urge you to completely uninstall Norton using this removal tool: Tool. Norton is known to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. I suspect it is involved in your crashes. One of the Symantec drivers, ENG64.sys, was involved the crashes. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.

I find some outdated drivers loaded on your system. Older third party drivers and do cause memory corruption and BSOD's. Two of your drivers (in red font) are quite obsolete. One is an XP driver. Update these drivers.

I think the ssport.sys driver belongs to a Samsung utility program. If you cannot find an update for it, navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers. find the file and rename it from .sys to .bak. This will break the program it is associated with.

The Western Digital driver has caused problems for others. I think it is associated with an external hard drive. It caused your system to crash at least once.

How to find drivers -
Quote:
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
- - To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Thanks so much for your help. Leon P.S. I have removed the adapter driver which has been replaced already with a newer adapter. I will work on the other issues, although the Samsung printer is old (it works) and I think they do not have a more recent driver. I will probably end up buying a new printer. All the best!!

Thanks for the update, Leon. I think if you rename that Samsung driver the printer will still work. You might find some information on this at the Samsung site. I working off of my old memory cells here; but I believe another OP found that he could rename that driver and still use his printer.
