    Pity.

I'd been avoiding the testing of the hard drive since that can also be time-consuming.

I notice that in your Systm Specs, info regarding your hard drive is missing.

Probably the easiest is to download and use Speccy to get that info.
Speccy - System Information - Free Download

Here's another alternative that will overwhelm you with info:
    SIW | Download

And then, of course, there is MSINFO32.EXE.

In any case, fill in the missing info. This will help me and others who come waltzing by. They can just take a glance out your specs without having to dig thru the thread.

Added harddrives to system specs as well as CPU cooler. Speccy shows harddrives as reporting Good via SMART.

Seatools shows good for Long Self Test on both drives. All SMART info is within tolerances.

    Tigey,
Please post a copy of the Startup tab of MSCONFIG.

Or if you would rather you can use CCleaner's Tools' icon | Startup button | and on the far lower right is the option to save to a TXT file.

do you perchance use a webcam? If so, then what software?

    Hi

While going along with what Karl has recommended, could you also have a read of the following?

Avira (You could check to confirm whether this applies in your case)
FoxIt Fix (for crashes when viewing PDF's online) - more on FoxIt

Hope things work out and thanks Karl for the work done

Are you running any custom themes at present?
Could you try reverting the theme to the default 7 theme?

Running default theme. No third party theme-ing or skinning installed. I will try un-installing Avira and see what happens tomorrow. My freezes only happen after the computer has been off for a while. After the freeze I restart, and all is right until I shut down and let it sit for a while.

    Thanks and understood.
Attached snip is from your system info uploaded earlier - from the windows error reporting tab.
For game related issues, please have a look at this post - Game Troubleshooting
Have you updated the drivers/software/patches for those?
