    Hesitation

I am having a major hesitation/freeze -up problem in my Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I really like this OS and this is the only real problem I've had. I installed some virus software and found one malware but it didn't take care of the problem. I am using Opera 9, tried 10 and the same thing. I tried IE and the same thing. So I am wondering if this is a common problem and if any one has any ideas about solving it.

Thanks for the info. I will give it a shot and hopefully it will help. I have downloaded the service pack also and plan on installing it.

Is this a browser hang only? Flash player still isn't ready for 64 bit, I believe.

Check your Event Viewer>Admin view to google repeat errors to find how others have resolved them.

Check also the Performance log on Advanced Tools page at Computer>Properties>click WEI score link. Look for cued issues at top of Tools page, Generate a System Health Report.

Type Problems in start search box to see if any solutions have been sent.

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Check optional Windows Updates and Device Manager, then the Support Downloads webpage for the computer or device model.

I'm not sure if it's just a browser problem. I have at least one game that the mouse pointer hesitates. I thought it might be my wireless mouse so I tried my wired mouse and it does the same thing. Thinking about it, that game is an older version so maybe it's not updated for W7. I will have to make a list of the software that I installed that are still older versions and see if one or more of those are causing problems.

I installed W7 SP1 last night, we'll see how it goes.

Well things are just about the same. I am using my XP partition (I upgraded to W7) until I have the time to reformat my hard drive with W7 and install software slowly to see if I can find the problem.

The problem was Flash player. I uninstalled it and took care of it.

Did you find it by using the clean boot (post 1)?

richc46 asked, "Did you find it by using the clean boot (post 1)?"
No, I found it by reading the #4 post on this thread. After reinstalling (custom install) and upgrading W7 to get rid of the XP partition I started to watch what I put back on my computer. I put Flash player on because of the You Tube site won't let you view videos without it. After that my web browser started hanging up again. I uninstalled Flash player and it's woking better.
