    BSOD After Clean Install of Windows 7

    Hi: I hope you can help me solve my blue screen problem. My computer is an HP Pavilion a6242n which had a OEM Windows Vista installed. It has a AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor, 3072 mb Memory, 320 g Harddrive, dvd burner, Nvidia Geforce 6150 SE graphics card. The computer is 2 years old

    I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit that was a retail purchase and then used easy transfer to reinstall my data.

    I am attaching the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder and the Perfmon HTML.

    Hope you can help me please figure this out.

    Hi,
    Your single dump have error code 0x19_3 = indicates pool header corruption.

    Reinstall .Net Framework because mscorsvw.exe was involved on the crash.
    Code:
    PROCESS_NAME:  mscorsvw.exe
    Upgrade your symantec antivirus to the latest version, or uninstall it.
    I would recommend to use MSE for troubleshooting purpose.

    These drivers need to do update:
    Code:
    Nvidia chipset driver=
    nvstor   nvstor.sys   Tue May 19 23:45:37 2009
    nvlddmkm nvlddmkm.sys Thu May 14 13:48:07 2009
    nvm62x64.sys Fri Oct 17 14:01:06 2008

    Conexant SoftK56 Modem Driver=
    VSTBS26  VSTBS26.SYS  Wed Oct 15 17:54:06 2008
    VSTCNXT6 VSTCNXT6.SYS Wed Oct 15 17:52:22 2008
    VSTDPV6  VSTDPV6.SYS  Wed Oct 15 17:57:45 2008
    If the problem persist, enable driver verifier and use windows normally. Then if you get BSOD attach the new file here.

    I did all the things that were recommended but am still getting a blue screen as well as the screen freezes sometimes and I have to reboot. I am attaching another perfmon and another jcgriff2. I also downloaded all new drivers as requested.

    Hi again,
    The driver verifier didn't mention any specific drivers that cause the crash, so you may disable it and do the suggestion bellow:

    Yes I see you have updated conexant modem driver, but one of them have different timestamp (older one).
    Maybe you should recheck or contact manufacture whether the modem supports win7 or not.
    All conexant drivers that installed in your windows:
    Code:
    mdmxsdk.sys  Mon Jun 19 14:27:26 2006 --> Conexant Modem Diagnostic Interface x86 Driver
    CAX_CNXT.sys Fri Feb 13 13:19:32 2009 --> Conexant Modem
    CAX_DP.sys   Fri Feb 13 13:18:25 2009
    CAXHWBS2.sys Fri Feb 13 13:21:18 2009
    XAudio64.sys Wed Apr 29 11:21:07 2009 --> Conexant Modem Audio
    But the more important is your Perform report = "The average disk queue length is 1.094. The disk may be at its maximum transfer capacity due to throughput and disk seeks"
    So test your hardrive with WDC Data Lifeguard Diagnostics.

    If the hardrive diagnostic result good, perhaps the disk report was cause by your backup software/utility or it's related to your Storage Filter Driver(amdxata.sys) that seems outdated.
    Code:
    amdxata.sys  Tue May 19 10:56:59 2009 --> should be 2010 by windows update
    storport.sys Mon Jul 13 17:01:18 2009 --> windows update
    Then let see if you still have the problem.

    Still blue screening

    I went through the issues you suggested. I ran the disk diagnostic and everything was OK. I went to the Hot fix site and downloaded a hotfix (but I don't know what it did) and I checked with the modem supplier and they said it should work with Windows 7. I am not sure how to get an update for amdxata.sys. I ran a windows update and it says that everything is up to date. I am getting so fed up with the blue screening that I am almost ready to go back to Vista. Help me please!!

    Hey dont give up mate! I'll try my best to help you :)
    I found in your System Information that your Bios date is quite old. It's 2 years before windows 7 come at 2009.
    Is it possible to update the Bios?
    Your Bios:
    Code:
    SystemProductName = GN706AA-ABA a6242n
    BaseBoardProduct = ECS Nettle2
    BiosVendor = Phoenix Technologies, LTD
    BiosVersion = 5.18
    BiosReleaseDate = 09/05/2007
    Is this your motherboard? --> Motherboard Specifications, MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
    I search in HP website and find an update to that BIOS:
    MCP61PM-HM Motherboard BIOS Update - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
    Code:
    BiosVersion = 5.27
    BiosReleaseDate = 2008-08-04
    Since I dont know much about your PC and motherboard, you must recheck again and make sure to have the right version, because Bios update failure can be fatal.

    Question on Bios update

    You suggested that I try to update the bios. I did check to see that the motherboard was the one you asked I had, and that was right. When I download the bios update it states "must have Vista operation system". I was afraid to go ahead and continue with the installation because I am running Windows 7 (although not all that well). Should I still continue with the bios update?

    If you sure about the version, try it.

    So the bios version is not match with your board.

    Two last dumps:

    • 0x3D = INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    • 0xA = IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL usual cause by driver or RAM.

    Reinstall your Nvida driver because it was involved in the crash.
    Before reinstall, better to remove the current driver with driversweeper then download and install a fresh copy.
    Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
    Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

    Then try some hardware test:
    1] RAM test with memtest86 for at least 7 passes.
    2] Video CArd stress with furmark.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
    An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
    interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
    caused by drivers using improper addresses.
    If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 00000000c1d000c9, memory referenced
    Arg2: 0000000000000006, IRQL
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, bitfield :
        bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
        bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
    Arg4: fffff80002aaccd3, address which referenced memory
