Windows 7: Dell M1530 - BSOD

Dell M1530 - BSOD

Hi all

I have to admit defeat. Been having random BSOD for ages now since installing Windows 7 64Bit on laptop. Havent been that bothered but it is starting to get to me now so trying to do something about it.
Dell M1530 laptop is about 2-2.5 years old. Originally came with vista 32bit. Now has Windows 7 64bit - 4GB Crucial Ram. Done a memtest for about 4 hrs with no problems detetected.

No other problems apart from this random BSOD. Updated Intel Wifi Drivers to the latest version as thought it could be them as the BSOD seem to "possibly" occur when downloading at full speed however BSOD happens at other times too - so I guess not. Cant really see a pattern to the errors to be honest.

This is a new OS install - my only other inclination is towards a problem with Acronis Disk Cloning Utility - could those drivers be the issue as I ran the Driver Verification tool and on reboot got the blue screen (ticked a few Acronis drivers) and acronis is one of my lifesavers and is one of the first apps I tend to install - could be the common factor??

Any thoughts and thanks to anybody willing to have a look and take the time

Just tried the verifier for acronis drivers - they seem OK NO BSOD yet

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000000000d7, Re-initializing Remove Lock.
Arg2: fffffa8005c781c0, Address of the chk build Remove Lock structure used internally by Verifier.
Arg3: fffffa80061aa050, Address of the Remove Lock structure specified by the driver.
A Remove Lock cannot be re-initialized, even after calling
IoReleaseRemoveLockAndWait, because other threads might still be
using that lock (by calling IoAcquireRemoveLock). The driver should
allocate the Remove Lock inside its device extension, and initialize
it a single time. The lock will be deleted together with the device
	extension.
Arg4: 0000000000000000

Cybercore thats amazing!!!!!

So far it looks like its sorted now...thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Uninstalled sptd.sys

Ran the verifier again and was still getting the blue screen

Tried updating the audio drivers - uninstalled and put on the ones on here

Keyliner Thoughts (keyliner.blogspot.com): Dell XPS M1530 Windows 7 Drivers

Not specifically designed for the m1530 but worth a shot

Ran veriifer again and no blue screens so far - will see how it goes

Should sptd.sys be reinstalled or is there no point?

You can try it, however if you get more BSODs it should be the first thing you remove.
