Windows event id 258 - defrag - what is this?

Hello people (this is from a post I'd made in another forum - posting here to have more feedback and help):

I see this event (id 258) for 'defrag' running almost every day or once every two or three days.

My windows 7 disk defragmentation is disabled, but how come this one keeps running?

I saw on google that there is some windows 7 boot optimization (or similar) that runs every few days.. is this true?

Also, is there a way to disable it or is it just fine to let it be?

Thanks a lot in advance and cheers.

do you have any defragger on the computer? Wins is obviously not disabled.

It is not a critical error just informational so ok

Thanks @ Ken. Yes I have MyDefrag on my computer (though it runs only on demand, right? I think so...). And I have been just trying out some defrag tools before, like 'free registry defrag' or other defrag app's.. though I have uninstalled all of them, and there is none right now...

Edit: Ah well... I remember I have Glary Utilities installed right now... but I don't see a defrag anywhere there, other than 'registry defrag'.. Would that be the culprit?

Also, is it wrong to have these defrag keep running every 2 or 3 days, and will it have any effect on the hard disk?

    Thanks and cheers.
