BSOD (ks.sys bad pool caller) Hello everybody! I have a small problem, well i think itīs a small one. My computer sometimes crashes, I will atach the dump file. Otherwise, it runs perfectly, except few crashes in almost 10 months. It used to happen every three or four months one crash, and it didnīt bother me that much, but now I had three crashes in just few days, all reporting the same error (subject). I tried to google it, but didnīt find anything specific. Last thing I installed was MS Visual C++ 2010 Express, and I noticed that Ad Aware (free edition) takes unusual long time to update and long time while performing scans.
Can anybody please help me, and direct me to the driver or program that is causing this?
Thank you in advance!

Checksum: 00000000 I see several problems or potential problems. The dump directly blames CinergyDvr.exe, TerraTec Home Cinema, for the crash. The drivers for this software are obsolete. They are shown below. If you cannot update the drivers, uninstall the software. It is obsolete and not going to run well on Win 7.
You have an almost guaranteed BSOD maker on your system. Please uninstall any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dump, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads. Select delete; do not select reinstall. Here is an alternative virtualization program that does not user the sptd.sys driver: Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview.
Uninstall AVG using this removal tool: Tool (64 bit). If you have Identity Protection installed, remove it with this tool: Tool. AVG is know to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place.
The following drivers are out of date. Outdated drivers can and do cause memory corruption and crashes. Those in red font are particularly obsolete. Update these drivers or uninstall the software they are associated with. Follow the above suggestions, reboot and run your system. Let's see how it does. Post back and let us know. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

I need to add, please uninstall TuneUp Utilities. Win 7 does not need any tuneup utility whatsoever. Here is my "sermon" on this topic. Windows 7 is a totally different operating system than XP. Win 7 is not an evolution from XP. It is a totally new OS and even changed from Vista. Thus the wisdom we learned about XP - tweaking, cleaning, modifying for speed, etc - do not apply at all to Win 7. Forget that knowledge. Windows is a closed source system. Developers of tuneup utilities and registry cleaners do not have the core code of Win 7 and are not working on definitive information, but rather they are going on past knowledge and experience, most of which is not applicable to Win 7. Automatic cleaners will usually have to do some guesswork.
There is almost no tweaking that can be done to Win 7 to speed it up. The system is designed to diagnose itself and take care of itself which it does remarkably well. Win 7 maintains itself and that includes the registry.
Tuneup utilities are pure snake oil. At best they do nothing except use resources. At worst, they can mess your system up, slowing it down, and even crash it. There is no tuneup utility out there anywhere that can speed Win 7 up and improve its performance, at least not at this time.
This isn't to say that the system does not need to be maintained. Uninstall programs that you don't use, delete unneeded and unnecessary files. Defrag your hard drive. But don't screw with the registry unless you are an in depth expert in the Win 7 registry.
We have seen the adverse effects of tuneup utilities and registry cleaners and registry defraggers in the Crashes and Debugging Section. Most of the time, the cure is a clean install. Using a program such as Ccleaner is fine to get rid of old and unnecessary files. A tuneup utility is not only unneeded, it can actually harm your system. Don't use them.
Sermon over. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Motherboard ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard Chipset: Intel 865G + ICH5 Memory 2.50 GB RAM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (Chip) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX 1962 wm Screen Resolution 1680 X 1050 Keyboard Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v10 USB Mouse Logitec optic USB Cooling Fan based Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80 GB

You are welcome and I hope you had a good weekend. Regarding the Terratec driver, if there is no update for the driver or the software, I recommend that you find a program certified to be compatible with Win 7, uninstall Terratec and install the new software.
