    'BSOD'... What else ?

    Greetings ladies and gents.

It seems I joined the BSOD body count, unwillingly but that goes without typing.
It appears rather randomly, but seems to have grow a liking on my (ever failing) attempts on windows updating that damned Microsoft .net framework 4.
Before I forget, here is some more info:
    Windows 7 64bit
First and only OS ever installed on this computer
OEM version (though I installed it myself)
    Hardware is 3 days old
And the OS is a few hours younger.

    Many thanks for your time

8 of 11 point directly or indirectly to memory. while you are waiting you should run memtest.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

EDIT: are you by chance running Zone Alarm?

Edit II: since the system uptime was short on the newest one (I suspect it may also involve the CCC) which was loading at the time

    Thank you Mr zag.

I should have run memtest prior to annoy people with a silly thread
I ran it overnight, but a within few secs it spotted an amazing number of errors.
It seems one of my ram sticks was the culprit, I also tried to test the motherboard slots, and the computer doesn't even power up when I'm using Dimm2 and Dimm4, maybe because of dual channel specs ?
As for CCC, I don't know if it's interfering in any way, didn't experience any BSOD come back for the last couple of hours.

So I hope it was just a ram stick issue.

Anyway, many thanks again for your help and time.
    Have a nice day !

Edit: i'm not using Zone Alarm by the way, just Kav.

This driver is shown as an unloaded module which means it was involved in the crash. This does not necessarily mean it cause the crash; but that is a possibility. This driver is out of date and may be causing a conflict.

I also recommend that you uninstall Kaspersky while you are trouble shooting using this removal tool: Info > Tool. Kaspersky is known to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Once you get your system stable, you can try it again. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on. I think ZigZag saw the same thing I did that throws suspicion on your firewall.

My mistake, actually it's Kaspersky Internet Security that I'm using, not Kaspersky Anti Virus.
I uninstalled it nonetheless, along with CCC, and ran the Dump & System file collector once again (with the 'safe' ram stick on it's own).
I didn't experience any bsod return so far, but I didn't use my computer that much yesterday and today.
I hope the new log will be enlightening.

    Thanks for your time

Glad to hear you are running smoothly so far. Good job of following instructions. Update us in a couple of days and let us know how you are doing. If you get another BSOD, upload the dump to us.

I got to send both ram sticks to the retailer, and I don't have a clue when he's going to send a pair back to me.
The 'next couple of days' is going to turn into the next couple of weeks, for any update on my behalf.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help CarlTR6, have a nice day
