Windows 7: BSOD watching videos off the net.

Hi all,

I started having these BSOD problems while watching videos from sites such as MegaVideo, Youtube and a few others. It started a few weeks ago and gradually got worse.

I have no other problems playing online games such as WoW and EVE online, also no other problems with other computer functions.

I have scanned my pc with Malwarebytes and AVG free, no viruses/adware/malware/spyware on my pc that i know of from these tests.

I have also tried pulling out and using the individual RAM sticks on their own and still having the issue.

Id also like to add I had a corruption problem where my roomates roaming profile accounts on his windows server 2008 box corrupted my own HDD, im not sure if that may be the problem and that i need a new HDD, that is why im here :P

Computer health in general is ok, RAM runs at about 25-30% most of the time, and all 4 of my CPU's run perfectly.

-Windows 7 x64
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz
-4GB of RAM
-Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT
-360GB SATA HDD manufacturer is Seagate (I Think)

Not sure what else to add, if anything is missing please be sure to let me know, Also all minidump files are attached to the post as directed, Ive also added a Video Memory Stress Test. im not sure how much it will help, but it's there just in case someone can tell me what it means!

Hi there!

This seem to be very straight forward. All of the dmp file blamed ewusbnet.sys, which when I search on google show that it is USB NDIS Miniport Driver - likely for Huawei Mobil Connect package. Seen with T-Mobile webConnect

Please either update, re-install the drive or remove it. Somehow, it is working improperly

Having issues with my system and didn't notice ttran's post. Please follow his advice first. There are some differences between our posts, so I'd advise reading both carefully.

This doesn't look good for your video card!

There are only 38 hotfixes on your system. There are a minimum of 55 available from Windows Update. Please visit Windows Update and get the remaining updates.

Your PCI Simple Communications Controller does not have a driver installed. Please visit the PC/motherboard manufacturer's website and install the chipset/motherboard drivers. Then check in Device Manager to ensure that the device has installed correctly.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:

A quick look blames ewusbnet.sys - a component of your USB NDIS Miniport Driver - likely for Huawei Mobil Connect package. Seen with T-Mobile webConnect (most likely a USB "Air card"). The drivers are the most likely thing to go bad, but the device itself can be defective also.

Please do the following:
- Download a fresh copy of the software/drivers for this device from your service provider.
- Uninstall the current software/drivers from your system.
- Install the freshly downloaded software/drivers
- Monitor for further BSOD's

Thank you for the advice there, but that doesn't seem to be the problem, I just tried to watch a vid on Megavideo and it Bluescreened me about 2 minutes into the vid!

As for your info Usasma, im in progress of downloading some of the programs you have suggested.

I just like to ask one question, is my video card in need of replacement?

EDIT: Also like to add that it didnt BSOD me this time, its just froze up my pc :/

Tested my wireless stick on my roomies pc, and it works perfectly, he can watch vids with no problem at all.

That rules out the hardware - so the next thing is the drivers. Remove the old one's and replace with freshly downloaded one's that are compatible with Windows 7.

As for your video card - I don't know. I am not familiar with the VMT test, but have read a little about it (I can't read the technical stuff on their website tho') Try these free tests:

I'm still not ruling out the video card myself, reason being that it crashes and freezes on videos only, yet i can play games like WoW and Napoleon TW online without any troubles.

Usasma I am currently running Prime95, and will send the test results asap, also attatched to this post is the results of the furmark test. I wasnt sure how long i should run it for but i ran it till my card got to 90 Degrees Celcius.

The test ran for roughly 3 minutes to get it to 90 Degrees.

First, please check your video card to be sure it's clear of dust and that the fan is working. While 90ºC isn't unusual in FurMark, it's definitely getting to the top of the scale.

Then please run Furmark again. The object is to get the temperature to level out. The card was only at 90ºC for about 4½ seconds.

When it gets that hot, watch the screen. Either the card will level off the temperatures, or the screen will start to display problems - that's the point to shut it off.

Then tell us if the temps leveled off (not a problem) or the screen started to have display problems (is a problem).

Hi again Usasma! Thank you for your continued help!

I ran Furmark again as requested, this time I left it running for roughly 10-12 minutes, Eventually it levelled itself out at roughly 102 degrees,i had no graphical issues whatsoever.

I also ran Prime95 for about 8 or 9 hours and the tests past. I have attached both tests results to this post.
