BSOD random crash new computer (1week)

    Hi,

I have a new computer, less than 1 week and i have been experimented a lot of BSOD random crashes.

I am not sure what could be. After several crashes i tested the memory with memtest, and after that i formatted the system again, i installed the latest drivers from the asus webpage (is an asus motherboard) and download the latest catalyst drivers for the videocard.

I am not sure what could be. The latest BSOD was with the verifier installed and pushing the system to crash (open a lot of things at the same time and copy a paste to force the memory)

    Any ideas?

I have to send back the computer to the shop in 5 days, but i am sure they will say everthing is ok. I would like to find where the problem is before to send it back to replace the piece that is broken.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
Your 3 dumps did not point to specific cause, it blame on ntkrnlmp (windows kernel).
And It seems your drivers already up to date.

The perform report indicate that PCI Simple Communications Controller driver is not installed properly, so it's better to install that driver.

Then you may try these hardware test:
    - Memory test for at least 7 passes
    - CPU stress with prime95

    Thanks
I will try the tests, i already did the memory one, but i will do it again.

Also, can you tell me where i can find a link to learn how to use the windbg?

I have it installed but when i try to open the dmp file it says:

Kernel symbols are WRONG. Please fix symbols to do analysis.

    *************************************************************************
    *** ***
    *** ***
*** Your debugger is not using the correct symbols ***
    *** ***
*** In order for this command to work properly, your symbol path ***
*** must point to .pdb files that have full type information.
Several times and i do not know how to fix this. (i am using the windbg in other computer, not in the crashed one)

    Thank you again!

Check at device manager, is there any yellow exclamation?
If any then you must install the missing driver.

I have made the memory test 8 passes with no errors at all.
After that i tried the stress test and in five minutes it hang up.

Does this means that i need to replace the processor or the motherboard?

Is that what is supposed to happen with the stress test?

    Thanks

Yes, it can be CPU fault if it hang up just in five minutes.
The objective of Prime95 test is to find out is there any error during the test, not to make your PC hang up.
If the CPU passes for 8 hours with no errors, it is most likely to be stable.

Yeah, i read that, but it is not the case.
I have tried several times and in less than 5 minutes it always crash the computer.

I am going to return the computer to the shop and tell them that something is wrong in the hardware, what i think is clear after several BSOD with no clear results.
They must check the computer again and i hope they wont come back saying everything is fine.

    Thanks for your help Wish.
