Logged on with a temporary profile So my standard user account was recently switched over to an administrator account. Now I am logged in with a temporary account. The Temp account only shows up under users when I am logged in. I tried creating another admin account to see if I could delete this one. I'm kinda freaked out. Also, I have no back up as you would need the administative rights to make one. Up until now I haven't had them. Please help!
Also, administrator accounts were switched to standard user | My System Specs |

That worked, great but will I ever see my files from my original(now admin) account?
I found this procedure, but is it the correct one in my situation?
Thanks again | My System Specs

Ok Listen Carefully (or in this case read carefully)
The more you use the computer the less the chance of recovery.
Try this first Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

It's not looking too good. Some .jpeg files which aren't opening and some cookies came in the quick search but none of my music. Trying a deep scan I guess..
I changed some stuff around in registry editor so the account will stay put, but no signs of my old files
Fingers crossed that "recuva" comes through | My System Specs

Try your best with Recuva. Some have had success with this when recuva fails DiskDigger | The trusted data recovery solution | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

So much to look through. It's there, but it will take a lot of sorting and renaming. All mp3s came through ok and still has their info so winamp can sort them, it's just that the file names are givin codes. Also, thousands of sisters facebook jpeg temps came in with probably 100 or so of my saved ones and album image covers. Videos would be a huge pain, as I have whole seasons of TV shows that are scattered everywhere givin code names sector283748930 etc etc. | My System Specs

Bottom line, you will get your files back and that is the important thing.
Be sure to back up everything at least once a month, so this problem does not happen again. It could have been worse your HD could have died and everything would be lost. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 Logged on with a temporary profile problems?
