Hi All
I hope one of you can help me!
I have a computer that I upgraded from XP to Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) Recently it started freezing erratically at completely random times. I managed to boot into safe mode at it worked fine. In there I made some changes to the start up in the system config, somehow I must have done something in there that screwed everything up!
Every time I start my computer it loads to windows xp recovery console. I cannot use this as the administrator password does not work. I cannot choose windows as an option when I boot to the startup options menu, only recovery console shows as available operating systems.
I have tried repairing/replacing the mbr with both bootrec and bootsect to no avail. Startup repair says that it should boot correctly
Is there any way of deleting the XP Recovery Console from the command prompt?
Any Ideas as to where to from here?
