    Blue Screen 2057 Crashing

Hi there, I'm new to these forums but it seems to be the place to get some useful answers to Windows 7 problems. And I have a pretty big one at the moment!

I have experienced the Blue Screen crash on loading up my computer in the last couple of days - it is an intermittent problem too so I've been able to restart ok a few times but then other times not. It first happened 2 days ago when I was actually flying on Microsoft FSX and the computer just shut down (maybe overheated??) and came back up with a BSOD. Since then I have totally removed FSX (it was causing all sorts of issues suddenly) but the Blue Screen has been returning forcing me to restart my computer. Just so you also know on restart when it tries to run CHKDSK it fails - I didn't catch the error message but it certainly didn't work.

    Blue screen error message below:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 2057

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 6b
    BCP1: 0000000000000000
    BCP2: 0000000000000000
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: 0000000000000000
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:

I've seen a couple of posts on this forum with a similar line of messages but whilst I'm ok with computers, I've found some of the solutions well beyond my capabilities to understand! I'd therefore really appreciate someone giving me any assistance they can and if possible putting things in laymans terms! My computer specs should be on my profile but if not they are:

    Dell XPS 435T with Intel Core i7 920 @2.67Ghz
    12GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
ATI Radeon 5800 Series (driver updated yesterday)
    1TB Seagate Hard Disk

Any help much appreciated! Many thanks in advance

    James

PS Just read the instructions for posting on BSOD (sorry I'm a newbie) and I've attached the requested files/reports now too. Also, bit more system info:

    • Windows 7 - now my Program Files says x86 but I thought mine was a 64bit system (it says it is when I find out what version I'm using)...maybe you can tell me more
    • It's the original version that was pre-installed on the system OEM
    • System is about 1 year old
    • OS never reinstalled

    Hi James,
One dump have 0x116 bugcheck (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE).
So I would recommend you to reinstalling your VGA card driver. When reinstall, it's better to remove the current driver with driversweeper then download and install fresh copy your ATI Radeon 5800 driver.

There are numerous reports of hardware solutions to VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. The most common are:
    - Poor Cooling
    - Problems with the power supply

    - Overclocking Issues

    - Bad System memory or incorrect memory timings

    - Defective PC Components

Another dump indicates hardware_disk failure, maybe its the reason why CHKDSK was failed.
So you must perform hardrive diagnostic --> Sea tools
Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

The last dump point to 0x6B (PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED) with your system uptime just 8 seconds before the crash.
It maybe related to your Hardrive failure or corrupted OS (windows), so try System File checker:
Right click Command Prompt -> Run as admin -> sfc /scannow

These drivers need to be updated:
    Code:
    SaiH0BAC.sys Mon Jul 02 02:25:35 2007 --> Saitek device driver
    SaiH0763.sys Fri Feb 15 05:15:05 2008

    OA002Vid.sys Fri Aug 01 02:34:52 2008 --> Creative Camera driver
    OA002Ufd.sys Tue Jun 03 02:30:37 2008
    OA002Afx.sys Fri Jun 08 01:00:36 2007

    adfs.SYS     Thu Jun 26 13:52:37 2008 --> your adobe software

Wish, thank you for coming back so quickly. I'm not too sure if I've done things correctly.

Firstly I have run SEA Tools and my Drive has passed all the tests.

Secondly I have run system file checker and it says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log". I have the CBS Log file but can't open it - should I post it on here? What is it? Do you know what this means?

I'm just going to uninstall my driver as instructed. Should I just reinstall the driver or whole Catalyst Package from ATI's site?

Will also update the other files you mentioned but if you could give me your quick thoughts on the above before I fiddle with the Drivers etc that would be great.

    Many thanks again!

I have updated the ATI Driver now. Just for your information in reboot it went to do a CHKDSK again and it said it could not direct access the volume due to issues with some recently installed software...

Not sure if this gives you any more to go on.

    Thanks

About the SFC found corruption files but unable to fix it, I think there is no other way to fix the corrupted files unless perform repair install or clean install.
-> Repair Install (preserve your user accounts, data, programs, and system drivers.)

Thanks Wish, I was coming to the same (frustrating) conclusion myself. I really hope I can perform a repair rather than clean install. Just backing up files just in case. Do you therefore now think it's more likely to be a software (Windows) problem rather than a hardware one?

    Hmm I can't tell yet.
We just eliminate every possibility, so we'll know after your windows fixed.

Wish, thank you for your help today. I've just come out of a long and arduous reinstall process and I'm just running some utilities to clean and make sure my system is all ok. Things seem to be working again though and CHKDSK ran with no problems earlier too. I'll let you know how I'm getting on but it looks like things may be ok now...we shall see!

Further problems today...seems to be iTunes related...

    Hi again,

I've had a nightmare today with the computer. Everything was working fine again yesterday after my repair install of Windows 7. I had everything cleaned, checked, defragged etc and it seemed that all was well again. The only fault I have been having was a USB Not Recognised Driver error but I disabled the problem port as nothing was plugged into it. I have also updated most of my drivers today and all looked fine.

However, I then went to reinstall iTunes - I first removed every instance of iTunes (as advised before repairing Windows) using Revo Uninstaller Pro. Once everything was up and running again I then installed iTunes again. It installed ok then I went to open it and nothing happened. It appeared in my Task Manager Processes list but just didn't open the program. I then decided to try to restart the computer to see if that fixed things...and I got a new BSOD:

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    Stop: 1*0000000000000050 (0*FFFFF88000800048, 0*0000000000000001, 0*FFFFF800KCF0600, 0*0000000000000000)

I tried to restart (both with repair and in safe mode but it kept going back to the BSOD). Eventually it created another BSOD:
MEMORY_MANAGER - I didn't get a chance to note down the fault numbers here.

EVENTUALLY it let me back into Safe Mode and then following that normal Windows again although the Event Viewer is littered with errors including Cryptographic ones and NTFS corrupt file errors.

I've attached my dump files and reports as before - I guess I really need some help now guys (or Wish) if you're still there.

Is it iTunes? Does it look like a hardware issue (i.e. something I can go get checked over the weekend by an IT guy) or does it look software related (i.e. can I just do a full clean install of Windows to fix the problem)?

Bit concerned as I couldn't access anything for a while today and reluctant to turn off the machine in case I can't start it again! Any advice, as always is appreciated!

Many thanks - please also advise if I should make a new post on this?

    James

    James,

    Please check again your attachment.
