Windows 7: Blue Screen's again

Well, there's always CPU cache. And some mobo's have a bit of memory built in (at least they used to - back in the olden days).

Try running the Small FFT's and the Large FFT's test in Prime95
Also try running the video tests anyway - it will also test the channels to the memory (inferred)
The more tests we run, the more likely we are to be able to find the issue.

IME it's more common to lose a mobo than it is to lose a CPU - but every case is different.

When you BSOD'd with the other graphics cards, was the onboard video disabled in the BIOS?
If not, I'd try it again with it disabled. If not disabled then the onboard stuff will still be running - with maybe a software switch causing the switch to the add on card (which would leave the onboard card running, but not active).

Ok thanks. I will run all tests and then put back the other graphic card.
Today it seems like the over voltage don't help. Well, without overvolt it don't even pass the first test.
Now it can run for about 30 min.

Just found this nice explanation of Prime95: Torture test your CPU with Prime95

Running the small FFT one of the 4 threads stoped after one hour and reported hardware failure.

I'm pretty sure it's the ram now.
I have 2x2gb
I removed one stick and run the blend test without problems for 6 hours.
Then I switched stick and run the other stick in the same slot. The blend test failed after 20 seconds.

I put the other stick in again and it was running the whole night without any error.

Very interesting. Most every explanation of Prime95 states that MemTest is the proper test for your memory - and to not use Prime95 as a memory test. But it appears that you've proven that wrong!

I'd suggest a new RAM stick - and would run Prime95 and Memtest on it just to be sure.

I returned the ram to the shop and got some new. (pretty nice, since the price today is lower I got 8 gb instead of 4).

I have now been running prime95 the whole night without errors so it look promising... It feels like the problem is solved but I will give it a few days before I report it as solved.

Thanks for all your help.

I'm pretty sure that this is solved.
