Yes BSOD do appear to happen either when first booting or within ten minutes or so.

my system spec is as follows:

    CPU AMD PHENOM2 X4 965

    Motherboard Asus M4A785T-M

    Memory CORSAIR 4GB 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 (2x 2gb)

    I've attatched the file requested

Thanks for taking the time to look at this for me :)

    Thank you.

I've referred this thread to a memory expert, hopefully he'll post soon.

Hi modey, welcome to Seven Forums.

With some more information we can get a better idea of where to start.

Can you tell us which slots and which RAM cards you ran Memtest86+ on?

Is your RAM on the motherboard compatible list?

D/L CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.

For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

Have you been checking your temperatures?

    Use
Speed Fan or Core Temp , run one of these and check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and North Bridge (NB) voltages are.

I tried both ram in the black slots on the board , had errors when first tired them but once i tried them on their own had no errors and then when put them both back in the same slots they passed with no errors

I've attatched the requested screenshots, hope this helps.

I have done temp tests when first installed and they all seemed fine, what temps do you need as a t the moment idle i've got:

    GPU 24oC

    Temp 1 28oC

    Temp 2 33oC

    Temp 3 -128oC

    Core 28oC

I'll get back to you with the CPU, RAM and North Bridge (NB) voltages.

    Thanks for your time :)

EDIT; I've been into the bios and i'm not really sure where the voltage figures are?

    Good info on the snips.

Can't find your motherboard manual on the Asus website, there is nothing listed under your motherboard.
Do you have the motherboard manual in paper or PDF file?

I will have to look at the BIOS info off of a similar motherboard, so it might not be exact.

Got the CPU voltage from the CPUZ tab.

For the RAM and NB voltages go to the BIOS 'Advanced' tab, RAM is 'Memory OverVoltage' and NB is 'VDDNB Over Voltage'.
These should be in 'Auto' but you should be able to see the current voltages.

Once we have the current voltages we can manually set the RAM timings and give a little voltage bump.

Let us know the voltages for the RAM and NB, and we'll go from there.

Hi, yes i do have the manual that came with the motherboard, in paper format.

I went into the bios again for the voltages but they were both on auto and the only info that was there was on the right hand side of the screen:

    RAM: Min = 1.35000v Max 2.31000v Standard 1.50000v Range 1.35 - 1.5v

    NB : Min = standard - 0.3000v max = by cpu increment = 0.00625v

Not sure if this is actually what you are looking for?

Your RAM should be at 1.5v and the NB at 1.1v.

Can you confirm these voltage settings?

Look in your manual in the BIOS section for the 'Advanced > JumperFree Configuration'

RAM is 'Memory OverVoltage' and NB (North Bridge) is 'VDDNB Over Voltage'

If the above voltages are correct.

Bump your 'VDDNB Over Voltage' to 1.2v, don't go any higher than this as you can seriously damage your system.

Run Memtest86+ for 7 runs or until you get an error.
Let us know what the errors are.

If this doesn't pass memtest86+, then bump the 'Memory OverVoltage' (DRAM Voltage) to 1.55v, or 1.56v depending on the increments.
Run Memtest86+ for 7 runs or until you get an error.
Let us know what the errors are, if any.

In the bios there is nowhere that tells me what the voltage actually is, it's just set to auto, and if i hit enter nothing happens ...shall I manually put in the two voltages of ram and nb to 1.5 and 1.1?

Set the RAM manually to 1.55 or 1.56 if 1.55 option is not available.

For the NB, select 'Normal' setting and check if this will let you see the current voltage.
If it is 1.1v change it to 1.2v.
Let us know the NB voltage.
