Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1
Net Card

After you said: "I did, however, have issues out of Windows 7 Ultimate x64, where it would BSOD at any given time. This I attribute to my network card, which is AT LEAST 6 years old, and has no 64-bit drivers. Or rather, SIGNED drivers."

I have to wonder, why not just get another net card? They're pretty cheap, and something makes me believe that if you went to the expense of changing Windows, you'ld consider the $25 100Mbps card.

Now, I don't know if this would solve your issue, but you DID say you were chatting...

As for the startup programs, you can remove:
Java(TM) Platform SE Auto Updater 2.0
ATI Customer Care
Adobe Acrobat.

You could probably also uncheck the catalyst control center, as mine is, but i'd leave it there for now.
That should make your comp start up a lot faster, and it might prevent a lock up.
As it is, my system starts up almost instantly, so startup time is no issue at all. Thanks, though. As for the non-Microsoft services...:
AMD External Events Utility, AODService, Apple Mobile Device, avast! Antivirus, avast! Mail Scanner, avast! Web Scanner, Bonjour Service, DriveHQ FileManagerFun, iPod Service, Steam Client Service, TabletServiceWacom. Some of them I'm going to disable right now, because I don't need them, ever.

Thanks, I'll try that out when I'm not busy playing games lol I'm fairly sure I already tried this a few weeks ago, though... After that, everything was fine up until last night. I'll try it again, anyways, just in case.

@PeaB4YouGo: I've considered this myself already, but just to be clear... I didn't pay a dime for my copies of Windows, I obtain them from certain sources I'd rather not mention here, because I'm almost 100% certain it's against forum rules. It's not that I condone piracy, I just don't see spending so much money on software. Hardware is a different story. I really do need/want a new network card, I just don't have the money at the time. Thanks for your input, though, highly appreciated.
