Try the Seagate Seatools test. If that doesn't work, then try the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test
I'm pretty sure that the Samsung drive is dying. Backup anything important on it IMMEDIATELY!!!
There are many different ways that a hard drive can die - and some of them will prevent the system from booting to a hard drive (or even a memtest) bootable disk.

At work if we can't get a test done on a drive we replace it.
So, I'd suggest trying another hard drive if you can't get a test to run. If that new hard drive works OK, then you've proven that the Samsung drive is dying.

Windows 7 Prof x64

Hello Usasma,

Sorry for the delay in response. I had a look at my configuration inside the case and it turned out my OS disk was connected through Sata 6Gb port. As soon as I put it through the Sata 3Gb, all the functions in HD Tune are available. I even tried the Seagate Seatools and it seems everything works just fine (Samsung passed the test).

I've ordered a new 60GB SSD. I want to try to do Win7 clean install. With all the information in relation to proper installation, through all the info in regard to maintenance and performance that I've found here, I think it will be simply better if I just do the clean install. After investigation I noticed that for example my chipset (NB/SB) drivers are not up to date. I have AMD 790FX chipset and just to even find the right one on AMD website is pretty "dodgy"... I remeber seeing a post in one of the forums where a user was saying that it is so easy to get the right nVidia chipset, whereas trying to find AMD is simply tiresome and hectic..

Thank you again for the time you devoted to my problem and to me.
Much appreciated.

I'll be running full diagnostic after the clean install so then I might have some good news which I will definitely share with you if everything works fine.

Thanks and in the meantime +1 for your efforts and help.
