Windows 7 randomly crashes with BSOD I've recently reformatted my HDD due to an increasing number of BSODs. However, even after doing a clean installation, I'm still facing the problem of random BSOD occurring without me being able to point out any programs that could be at fault. Please help me solve my problem

sptd.sys Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads

Very glad to receive help so soon and thank you for welcoming me to SF.
Just wanted to check, if I uninstalled the STPD.sys, does this mean that I'll not be able to use any CD virtualization program in the future?
And, would it be right to say that the problem bugging my PC currently is due to the Daemon Tools I have installed on my computer? Never had a problem with this tool in the past, and am quite shocked to see this. If it is indeed the case, I would then delete this program which are also installed on my laptop (not facing any problem yet).
Would be running the Memtest later on at night as it seems like it might take a few hours.

Hi Nicholas.. It is recommended to uninstall Daemon Tools because it uses SPTD.sys, which is notorious for causing BSOD crashes ... Once we have a stable system, you can either try reinstalling Daemon Tools, or try using MagicDisc, which does not use that driver... Use this uninstaller to remove SPTD.sys.. SPTD.sys Uninstaller
You will need to run Memtest for at least 5 passes, and will want to let it run overnight as it will take some time to complete.. To both Lemur and Tews,
I have uninstalled STPD.sys as adviced and also allowed the Memtest to run overnight.
After 8 passes, there is still no error indicated. So does this mean that my PC is more or less safe from BSODs?
Thanks a lot for your advice
