BSOD when slave HDD hooked up

    Hi,

I was directed here from another forum. I'm having issues booting my computer with or without my WD Caviar Blue 640GB hooked up, but when it is I get a BSOD (even when trying to boot in safe mode). Safe mode works if it isn't hooked up.

Attached is the jcgriff2.zip file. I couldn't get perfmon /report to work (I get a screen saying "Error: An error occurred while attempting to generate the report. The system cannot find the path specified." I also got this message about the BSOD at one point when I started up:

There are only 2 hotfixes installed on your system. There is a minimum of 55 hotfixes available for Win7 systems (some have even more). Please visit Windows Update and get the rest of the updates for your system.

Please uninstall Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120% - it causes BSOD's on Win7 systems. Then please remove the offending sptd.sys file by running this free program: DuplexSecure - FAQ - Remove 64 bit sptd.sys

MSINFO32 also shows an issue with the spldr.sys driver. I most often see this on infected systems, so I suggest performing an independent scan for malware. Here's a link to several free, online, independent antimalware scanners: Malware

Please perform these free diagnostics on your system. Please run the hard drive diagnostics on all of your hard drives.
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
