BSOD after fresh install and windows update! HELP

    i uninstalled kaspersky, and disabled the ide/sata driver and the bsod's have completly stopped.

    on the marvell site, its a package installer that automatically installs the driver for you. It isnt installing an ide/sata driver, but instead its intstalling the updated network driver.

    I guess i'll keep looking for the ide/sata driver

    I found the drivers on the asus motherbord site, installed it and the BSOD's started up again.

    What will the disadvantages be if I dont install this ide/sata driver ever?

    Good job working with the drivers. If your drives work, you can just leave the Marvell driver disabled. What is the date of the driver you downloaded from Asus?
