    Win7 32bit - Aero Problems

Last night my Nvidia Geforce GTX9800+ died. So I went out to the store and picked up a brand new EVGA GTS450 1024mb GDDR5 (fermi) card. Everything is working just fine except my Aero. I've tried trouble shooting using every method in the world it feels like but still to no avail.

I've tried restoring to a previous date.
I've tried searching Aero in my start menu and trying to use the repair tool.
I've tried selecting and downloading 20+ Aero Themes
    I've tried repair installing
I've tried sfc/scannow in cmd prompt and all I get is there are corrupt files it can't fix

My Taskbar and Start menu aren't in classic mode is says, it says they are in Aero; but they aren't transparent nor will it let me adjust any advanced settings. Also Aero Peek isn't working.

try running sfc repeatedly. it can take 3 or 4 times to fix everything. (at least 3).

have you tried updating your video driver?

Yes all drivers are updated, and I even used Driver Genius to double check.

I'll try running it a few more times

running incompatible software will also cause aero to stop functioning. are you running any old software?

i suppose any software that pre-dates win7 would be a prime suspect. but i wouldnt rule out newer programs. the only software i had issues with is Age of Empires III. when i run the game, it disables aero, but it restarts itself when the game closes. do you have any older programs that start when windows starts?

When you replace a graphics card, you will need to re-run your WEI index... Hope this helps
