in a search to find one of the drivers, I talked to a support tech for gateway. in that conversation, I was told that one of my system files was corrupted and I have to perform a system recovery to reset everything to factory settings. can you see from what I have posted if that is what is really the case?
Did the tech say which one and did he say why he thought a system file was corrupt. I have not seen evidence of that in the dumps. But to make sure, run SFC. If it finds errors, run it again. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
I ran the scan and "windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations" I am also attaching a copy of the conversation. I tried to ask and he didn't give a straight answer. and I am still having trouble finding the updates. I talked to the guy specifically to get the driver from my computer manufacturer. the only one I have been able to find is the realtek one. is the file name on the report the file I need to find, or the file is the one installed currently. if it's the latter, how do I find the file name I need? I'm sorry if I am being a pest. I am ignorant to this stuff.

the DKbFltr.sys tech support site requires me to use a cd-rom. my netbook doesn't have a cd rom drive. and the Apfiltr.sys is the one I have been trying to talk my manufacturer. I forgot to upload that conversation. I will now.
Well, he is half right. It is a system file; but it is most definitely a device driver. Drivers are system files.
All I can say is unbelievable. Thank you for supplying the conversation. The driver is actually a Vista driver and it may work with Win 7; some Vista drivers do. You could try installing that driver in the Vista mode.Sajin Tisserent: Which outdated driver?

Compatibility Mode
I'm still running into the problem of not having an exe file to do that with. I don't have a cd rom drive or the what ever I need to install so I can't run it in compatibility mode.
I have no idea what the alps pointing device is. or the dritek keyboard filter driver. but those were two of the three drivers that you said needed to be updated because they were causing my BSOD.
Yes, those drivers need updating. I am trying to figure out what the pointing device is, a trackpad? A mouse? If the Dritek support site is requiring you to use a CD, that most likely means they are wanting you to reinstall the driver. An updated driver would not be on the CD.
